Space Core in the Builds

Well, finally! Today, I really started on my Space Core Prop for my costume for Dragon Con. So far, it is looking pretty good. The only thing I forgot to take a picture of is the Space Core with it's newspaper covering. I am using paper mâché for his outer shell. Though, instead of water and glue, I used Wallpaper Adhesive. So, the covering should be quite durable. For now, take a look at the Space Core all carved out.

Not the best picture in the world, I have to say. My camera phone sucks XD. I am also using an LED light for the eye of Space Core. I got like 3 LED Lights in a package for 3 bucks at walmart, so it was an awesome deal XD. And it works out pretty great. For the design on the light though, I created the Space core Eye Design on Photoshop, which you can see in my earlier posts. I printed it on clear sticker paper, which I also got at walmart.
Here is the picture of the LED Light on it's own with the sticker. It looks  a bit wrinkled though >-<. I might go back and fix that. Right after I got it all set up, my mom came around and said I should have put slits in the paper, so it will wrap around the light nicer. She could have told me this Earlier, lol.

Here is the LED Light Again, but this time later in the Day. I got an idea that since my Space core is too small to put any PVC pipe or anything in it, I will just have to manually hold it. So I found some stuff around the house. 2 colorful sparkly sticks I found in the kitchen cabinet. There was a whole package, but I have no idea where they even came from, lol. It has been so long since we got them, and they were just sitting there unused. Also, to hold it a bit in place,is a clear small toothpick fork like thing I also found in the cabinet with the sparkly sticks. I have no idea where they came from either XD. It is all held together with Scotch tape which can probably be found easily walmart, or staples, or somewhere like that. Not really professional, but hey, it works. The little thing I made makes the eye move so much easier because it grips nicely in my hand, so I have a lot of control over it.
Though I do not have a picture of it inside the Space Core Yet. The wallpaper adhesive is still drying.

Aperture Logo for my Shirt

Well, here is the logo I made to go on my shirt. I am going to print it out on ironing paper, or whatever that paper is called so I can iron it on to my shirt. I took a Aperture Logo off google, and touched it up on photo shop. this of course is 300 DPI as well, so it is high res. Hopefully it will print out right.

Space Core Puppet Creation has Started :D

Yes! Finally! I finally got the supplies to make my space core puppet. Well, the basic supplies that is. We are getting more supplies tomorrow at home depot. Hopefully it will turn out well.

So for now, here is the 1st picture ever of the space core I am creating. He does not look like much now. I still need to use my grandfather's dremel to carve out the details.

Aperture Logo Sticker

Alright! Two updates in one day. Here we have an Aperture logo sticker that I will be sticking onto the Space Core when he is complete. This did not take long to do. All I did was take this aperture logo of google, put it on photo shop. Then I expanded it to fit my screen and filled in the triangles with the paint bucket on a new layer to get a cleaner, crisper, not so pixelated version.
Again, this is a 300 DPI Picture, so it is very high in resolution. Hopefully, it will print out nicely.

More Brain Storming

So yes! Another Brain Storming concept straight out from my sketch book. I did most of the planning today during my free time during school if I did not have any school work. So, here are some concept sketches of the inner part of the Space Core. All the stuff that will be in there will help bring this cute little space core to life.  A bit of the puppetry design is based off the famous Wheatley Puppet. Though many of the other stuff to bring the Space Core to life will be a bit simpler because of how I want to spend as less money as I can.  So, there you have it. I was just told that I need to make a list of all the things I need so I can go shopping on Friday for the supplies to make Space core and a Chell Costume I will be cos-playing as at Dragon Con. Also, this means that I will have a very awesome costume to wear at Character day during my school C:.  Can't wait to get started.
P.S. This is Wonderflex.

Space Core's Eye

Space Core's Eye. Did not take me very long to make it now. Maybe 15 minutes to the most. His eye is made at 300 DPI (Dots per inch), so it is high quality. Hopefully when it gets to the printing stage, it will print out nicely.

'White Print' For Space Core Puppet

Alright. So at school Today, I got an idea. To Create Valve's Space Core a puppet for Dragon Con. Though I am going to try to make him with little money as possible. I know I am going to be using money for this, I just don't want to spend a lot of it on this project.
I have created 'White Prints' of the Space Core. Sorry for my scatter brained notes XD. This is just a basic sketchy plans for my puppet. I am hoping to get some feed backs to try to make this work. So if you have any ideas and suggestions, I am willing to take them. This is my first building project I am starting on my own, so I am kind of lost of what to do here and there.
I am also going to be emailing my grandfather to see if he has any ideas since he is good at building things. So, wish me luck on succeeding to make this XD. I really hope I do. I also have a 2 week time span till dragon con, so yeah. I got to get this done quick XD.

Welcome

Well, Hi there! Sorry there is not much to show, but I will be uploading things soon, so be patient. I hope you enjoy my works as well. Also, I may need some advice from some of you from time to time, so feel free to help out when I ask ^^.
